As we continue the renovation of Stewart’s Folly, we’ve been focusing on making sure the cabin is as comfortable and functional as possible for our future guests. Today, a major step forward was made in the electrical work, with improvements designed to enhance your experience during your stay. From upgraded lighting and smart home tech to ensuring the cabin’s infrastructure is sound, here’s a look at the electrical work completed today.
Installing MYSA Thermostats for Ultimate Comfort
One of the first updates we’ve made today is the installation of MYSA smart thermostats in each of the bedrooms and bathrooms. These sleek, modern thermostats will give our guests complete control over the temperature in their rooms, providing a level of comfort that you can adjust to your liking. Whether you like your room cool for sleeping or warm and cozy after a long day of hiking, these thermostats make it easy to create the perfect environment. Plus, because they’re smart devices, they help with energy efficiency—keeping the cabin warm when needed and conserving energy when it’s not.
Rewiring for Better Lighting
Stewart’s Folly is an older cabin with a lot of character. However, when it came to lighting in the bedrooms, we knew we could do better. Historically, the only way to get light into the rooms was to flip a switch and use lamps plugged into outlets, which limited the flexibility and function of the space. We believe in creating an environment that’s not just functional but also enjoyable, which is why we had all of the bedroom switches rewired today to allow for ceiling lights.
This upgrade is a game-changer. Now, each bedroom will have its own ceiling light, providing a much-needed source of overhead illumination. This is especially helpful for creating a bright, welcoming space, whether you’re reading a book, getting ready for the day, or just relaxing after a long adventure in the Poconos.
Of course, we haven’t forgotten about the importance of ambient lighting. Each guest room will still have bedside tables with lamps, and each lamp will be equipped with USB charging ports. This way, you can easily charge your devices without having to search for outlets. We know how important it is for our guests to stay connected, so we’ve made sure the cabin is equipped for modern needs.
For those with newer devices, we’re also planning to provide USB-to-USB-C adapters in every room, ensuring that all of your gadgets can be powered up no matter what type of charging cable you use. Whether you’re charging your phone, tablet, or any other USB-powered device, you’ll have no problem staying powered throughout your stay.
Power Supply for New Appliances
While the guest experience is our top priority, we’re also making sure the infrastructure of Stewart’s Folly is fully equipped to handle the needs of modern living. Today, we made significant strides in that direction by installing a new power supply for the upcoming dishwasher and pump in the crawl space.
The dishwasher is a great addition to the kitchen and will help make clean-up after meals much easier for guests who are cooking in the fully-equipped kitchen. We’re creating a space where you can prepare a delicious meal and clean up without hassle, and the new dishwasher will definitely add to that convenience.
The pump installation is also crucial for maintaining the integrity of the cabin. While guests will never need to venture into the crawl space, it’s important for us to ensure proper drainage and moisture control beneath the cabin. This pump will help keep the crawl space dry and prevent any moisture-related issues that might arise over time. The foundation work for this system has already been completed, and now the electrical setup will ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
