We’re thrilled to share another milestone in the transformation of Stewart’s Folly—our final color palette is officially decided! Every shade we’ve selected is from Benjamin Moore. While the renovation is still a work in progress, we hope you can imagine how these colors will brighten, define, and harmonize each space in the cabin.
The Palette
Here’s the vision for Stewart’s Folly, room by room:
- Main Living Area: To bring light and warmth to the heart of the cabin, we’re painting all the wood paneling Chantilly Lace OC-65. This crisp white will bounce light beautifully, creating an airy, inviting space while keeping a nod to modern simplicity.
- Kitchen: Stonington Gray HC-170 provides a soft, neutral contrast to the white paneling, offering a clean feel that complements both rustic and contemporary touches.
- Bathrooms: Both the main floor and upstairs bathrooms will feature Woodlawn Blue HC-147, a serene and timeless blue-green that evokes tranquility and the natural surroundings.
- Main Floor Bedroom: For a warm, classic vibe, we’ve selected Windham Cream HC-6. This historical shade offers a subtle buttery glow, perfect for creating a cozy retreat.
- Loft Bedrooms: Each loft bedroom will carry its own unique personality:
- Bedroom 2: Fresh Dew 435 introduces a soft, delicate green, reminiscent of new beginnings and the fresh mountain air.
- Middle Bedroom: Morning Sunshine 2018-50 is a cheery yellow that promises warmth and optimism—ideal for the morning light streaming through the patio door.
- Bedroom 4: Lavender Mist 2070-60 adds a touch of calm with its dreamy, pale lavender, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the outdoors.
Designer’s Summary: A Cohesive Cabin Retreat
This palette was carefully chosen to create a balance between light, warmth, and personality throughout the cabin. By painting the wood paneling white, we’re opening up the space and letting the natural surroundings take center stage. The accents of soft grays, blues, and greens in the shared spaces reflect the hues of the forest, sky, and water, while the bedroom colors offer a unique charm that ensures each space feels distinct yet cohesive.
Together, these colors work to create an environment that’s fresh, bright, and relaxing—a retreat where you can truly feel at home. Whether you’re curling up in the Windham Cream bedroom, enjoying a cheerful start to the day in Morning Sunshine, or soaking in the calm of Lavender Mist, each room is designed to bring comfort and joy.
