We’re in the final stretch of getting Stewart’s Folly ready, and we couldn’t be more excited! The big projects are done, but as we’re learning, the smaller details take the most time. Every trip to the cabin brings a new to-do list, but we’re loving every step of the process.
Bringing the Details Together at Our Poconos Cabin Airbnb
This past weekend was all about organization and final touches. Jen spent hours putting away kitchen essentials, organizing cabinets, and making sure every room had the perfect bedding setup ready to go. Meanwhile, I had my first official sleepover at the cabin to tackle a long list of small projects.
I spent the weekend:
✔ Installing curtain rods and hanging curtains
✔ Hanging artwork and towel bars
✔ Disassembling outdoor furniture left behind by the previous owner
✔ Mounting TVs in every bedroom and hiding the cables
✔ Adding hangers and luggage racks to closets
The small details make all the difference, and every time we check something off our list, we seem to add another. Things like umbrellas for rainy days, a large pasta pot, cozy throw pillows, and laundry hampers weren’t on our radar at first—but now they are.
Jen has been researching the best and worst vacation rental experiences, making sure we’re thinking through everything from guest comfort to convenience. Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming stay where every detail feels thoughtfully considered.

We’ve also stocked a variety of puzzles for all ages—because sometimes, there’s nothing better than piecing together a beautiful scene by the fire.

Shifting Our Focus to the Outdoors
Now that our indoor projects are almost complete, we’re turning our attention to the outdoors.
The winter was rough on the woods surrounding our cabin. We had a windy winter, and the property is covered with fallen branches. We’re pretty sure the previous owner didn’t spend much time clearing them, so we have a couple of years’ worth of fallen debris to clean up!
One of our biggest outdoor plans is creating a cozy firepit area. We found the perfect spot and can’t wait to make it part of the guest experience. A firepit means roasting marshmallows, late-night chats, and stargazing—exactly the kind of moments we want our guests to enjoy.

Before we dive into outdoor improvements, we’re finishing the final touches inside.
